This project, named Wuxi C&D He Xi, draws inspiration from the renowned Helv City built by Wu Zixu, showcasing the exquisite, far-reaching, elegant, and flexible features of Wu Culture. Wu Culture can be seen in various aspects, from the ancient city layout of "land parallel with flowing water" to intricate gardens, delicate embroidery, sculpture, and even traditional Chinese opera.
What sets Wuxi C&D He Xi apart is its skillful planning and profound connotation. The project innovatively upgrades traditional Chinese architectural style and elements with modern techniques. From the facade to the components, and from the planning to the lanes, every element is meticulously designed based on tradition. The result is a specific Chinese Zen style that enhances the courtyard scene and living experience, bringing a poetic dwelling for modern people and reproducing the Chinese Zen living aesthetics.
The realization of Wuxi C&D He Xi involves the use of high-quality materials such as stainless steel plate, aluminum alloy, stone, and integrated wall plate. These materials contribute to the project's durability and visual appeal.
Located in the Wuxi Economic Development Zone, Wuxi C&D He Xi covers a total land area of 143,852.70 square meters, with a ground floor area of 218,765.49 square meters and an underground area of 90,076.94 square meters. The project consists of three plots, A, B, and C, with A and B designated for residential use and C for a school. Its strategic location connects major roads and provides convenient access to various parts of Wuxi.
Leading the design team is Liu Hongbin, with Su Tanhong as the project leader. The team, including members Song Jingwei, Long Hangming, Zhang Ke, and Su Lingbin, worked diligently to overcome several challenges during the construction process. These challenges included combining four land masses in an orderly manner, balancing resource and space utilization, ensuring a luxurious feel for the nine-story building, and avoiding large areas of elevated land.
Wuxi C&D He Xi is not just a visually stunning project; it also emphasizes functionality and interaction. The architectural design highlights the logical beauty of columns, beams, arches, rafters, purlins, and distinctive roofs with deep overhangs. The incorporation of Chinese elements creates a harmonious integration with the surrounding nature, achieving the highest state of unity between the house and the yard.
The Wuxi C&D He Xi project was realized between 2019 and 2021, with extensive research and collaboration with experts from various design institutes and companies. The result is a residential architecture that showcases the best of Chinese tradition and modern innovation.
Wuxi C&D He Xi was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020 in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
